With an all-new (and overdue) XC90 on the way, Volvo's largest crossover moves into 2014 unchanged from last year. All models use a 3.2L V6 engine making 240 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.
Two models are available: the 3.2 AWD can be had in base, Premier Plus and Platinum trims, while a 3.2 AWD R-Design version is offered in base and Platinum trims.
Standard features include integrated second-row child booster seats, safe approach and home lighting, central locking with two-step remote entry, chrome taillight trim, LED daytime running lights and taillights, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, rain-sensing wipers, rear park assist, silver roof rails, 12(!) cupholders, three 12-volt power outlets, steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, auto-dimming rearview and side mirrors, dual-zone climate control, 40/20/40 split-folding rear seat, third-row seating, heated front seats, leather-trimmed shifter and steering wheel, outside temperature gauge, power-adjustable eight-way driver and front passenger seats with lumbar, power windows with front auto up/down, reading lights, silver aluminum inlays, trip computer, eight-speaker 160-watt stereo, Bluetooth with streaming audio, and leather seating.
3.2 Premier Plus trim adds a garage door opener, active Xenon headlights, power-folding side mirrors, compass, quick-fold front passenger seat, grocery bag holder, interior air quality system, and red wood-trimmed shifter and inlays.
3.2 Platinum versions bring a 12-speaker, 650-watt stereo and navigation.
Compared to the standard 3.2 trim, base R-Design models add a garage door opener, active Xenon headlights, sport exhaust tip, sunroof, R-Design grille and rear skid plate, silver scuffplate, aluminum shifter, compass, quick-fold front passenger seat, grocery bag holder, interior air quality system, R-Design interior trim inlays, floor mats and steering wheel, and R-Design seats.
Finally, R-Design Platinum trim adds the R-Design-specific items listed above to the 3.2 Platinum model.
