NEW FOR 2015:
-Drive-E FWD model, with new turbocharged four-cylinder engine and eight-speed transmission
Volvo's XC70 crossover moves into 2015 with a new powertrain option: it adopts the brand's new turbocharged Drive-E four-cylinder engine, which is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and available with front-wheel drive only.
The four-cylinder motor comes in T5 Drive-E models, while T6 versions use a turbocharged six-cylinder that's carried over from last year's car. That larger engine comes standard with all-wheel drive, but uses a six-speed automatic.
T5 trim levels include base, Premier, Premier Plus and Platinum; T6 versions start with a base model and run through Premier Plus and Platinum.
Standard T5 Drive-E kit includes Volvo's City Safety system, LED daytime running lights, electric parking brake, rear fog light, safe approach and home lighting, keyless entry with lockable fuel filler, dual exhaust, front and rear skid plates, outside temperature gauge, heated side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, roof rails, rear wiper/washer, cargo floor railts, “shimmer” graphite aluminum inlay, cross-country floor mats, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, 40/20/40 split folding rear seat, four reading lights, front centre armrest, heated front seats, illuminated front vanity mirrors, locking glove box, locking underfloor cargo storage, leather-trimmed shifter and steering wheel, power windows with front auto up/down, rear seat B-pillar ventilation, tilt-and-telescopic steering, Volvo Sensus with seven-inch colour display, eight-speaker 160-watt stereo, Bluetooth with streaming audio, and T-Tec seat surfaces.
T5 Drive-E Premier trim adds keyless drive with personal car communicator, sunroof, adaptive digital gauge cluster, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dark walnut wood inlays, and leather seats.
The move up to Premier Plus brings a garage door opener, private locking, power tailgate, cargo cover, compass, grocery bag holder, power-folding rear headrests, quick-fold front passenger seat, backup camera, and a 12-volt power outlet in cargo area.
Platinum trim includes accent lighting, upgraded stereo with 12 speakers and 650-watt amplifier, and navigation.
The base T6 model builds on the base T5, but gets the larger engine, six-speed transmission and all-wheel drive. As well, it adds keyless drive with personal car communicator, hill descent control, sunroof, adaptive digital gauge cluster, auto-dimming rear mirror, dark walnut wood inlays, and leather seats.
At the Premier Plus and Platinum levels, T6 cars add hill descent control to the T5 Premier Plus and Platinum models.
