NEW FOR 2015:
-New model
Volvo's crossover family grows by one for 2015 with the addition of the V60 Cross Country; as the name suggests, it's a V60 wagon with a raised suspension and styling cues that aim to link it to the brand's other crossovers. Our guess is that this car will eventually replace the XC70, which is based on the last-generation Volvo wagon platform.
Interestingly, while Volvo has installed its new Drive-E four-cylinder engines into the rest of the model range, the V60 gets just one engine, a turbocharged five-cylinder. That both makes sense, and doesn't all at once: the Drive-E cars are all FWD, but if there's a FWD XC60 and XC90, why not do the same here? We'd suggest watching for Volvo to add a V60 Cross Country model in FWD Drive-E form for 2016.
For now, however, all V60 Cross Country models are five-cylinders and AWD, with a six-speed automatic transmission.
