NEW FOR 2008:
- Luxury option package receives 17-inch wheels with all-season tires; 18-inch wheels with summer tires becomes a stand-alone option
An all-new model in 2008, the Volvo S80 is unchanged for 2008, save for new wheels in its Luxury option package.
The S80 is available as the 3.2 AWD, with 3.2-litre inline six-cylinder, and as the V8 AWD, with 4.4-litre V8. Both use a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode and electronically-controlled all-wheel drive.
Features on the 3.2 AWD include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated mirrors with puddle lights, power rear-door child locks, front and rear fog lights, headlight washers, power sunroof, CD stereo with auxiliary jack, electrically-folding rear head restraints, fold-flat front passenger seat, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, heated power-adjustable leather seats with memory, auto-dimming rear-view mirror with compass, cruise control, garage door opener, intermittent wipers, tilt and telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel and wood inlay trim.
The V8 AWD adds speed-sensitive steering, active bi-Xenon headlamps, and premium sound system.
Available options include adaptive cruise control, collision warning system, blind spot information system, active chassis, heated rear seats, parking assist, rain-sensing wipers, navigation system and dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system.
Roomy, weighty and luxurious, the S80 aptly fills its role as Volvo's flagship sedan. Most of its features are included on both versions, so you don't have to move up to the larger engine to enjoy the extras; that includes the options, all of which can be added to both vehicles. Pricing remains the same as the 2007 levels.
