Redesigned for 2011, the Volkswagen Touareg moves into 2012 with only a minor trim change: park distance control is added to the Highline while a rearview camera is removed from the Execline.
The Touareg is available with a 3.6-litre direct-injection gasoline engine or 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel. Both use an eight-speed automatic transmission with 4Motion permanent all-wheel drive. Both engines are available in Comfortline, Highline and Execline trim.
Features on the Comfortline include 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, eight-way power heated seats, 60/40 split-folding, sliding and reclining rear seats, auto-dimming mirror, automatic headlamps, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, compass, fog lights, rain-sensing wipers, heated washer nozzles, keyless entry, interior lighting package, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, media device interface with iPod connectivity, multifunction trip computer, heated mirrors, 115-volt power outlet, privacy glass, navigation system with CD/DVD playback, Sirius satellite radio, tire pressure monitoring system and silver roof rails.
The 3.0 turbodiesel Comfortline also includes a power tailgate.
The Highline adds twelve-way power leather seats with memory, two-piece sliding centre armrest, genuine burr walnut inserts, park distance control, garage door opener, panoramic sunroof, power rear seat backrest release and power tailgate.
The 3.0 turbodiesel Highline also adds a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats and pushbutton start.
The Execline adds 19-inch alloy wheels, adaptive bi-xenon headlamps with LED technology, Dynaudio premium stereo, heated rear seats, heated power-adjustable steering wheel, pushbutton start and manual rear sunshades.
The 3.0 turbodiesel Execline also adds 20-inch alloy wheels and a sport suspension.
