Model Overview
Volkswagen’s first mid-size SUV model is an ambitious one, taking the people’s car upscale. If the Touareg’s smooth lines seem familiar, that’s because a lot of what’s underneath is shared with the Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7. While the Touareg in theory competes in a mainstream segment, it tries to appeal to buyers in both mid-range and luxury markets with an attainable starting price and performance-oriented configurations.

It's a great Car

Overall Score
One of the best cars that you can rely on. Class and comfort! Fuel is supreme Gas which is a huge drawback on this car but aside from that it runs well, lots of power and gets you through anything! Very Happy

On certain vehicles, the fuel pump flange may develop fine cracks or fissures, which could result in a fuel leak. Leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could lead to a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect for cracks and replace the fuel filter flange if cracks are found. If no cracks are detected, a protective cover will be applied to the filter flange to prevent oxidization and future formation of cracks.

On certain vehicles, a securing clip at the brake pedal hinge may have become dislodged during vehicle assembly. This could allow the pivot pin to move out of position, which would allow the pedal to wobble, and could fracture the brake pedal pivot through continued use. A fractured hinge would allow the pedal to separate from its pivot, which could lead to impaired brake function and increase stopping distances, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect and add a securing clip as necessary.

On certain vehicles, the fastening struts on the roof edge spoiler may develop cracks over time, which could allow the spoiler to become loose and detach from the vehicle. Should this occur, the spoiler could cause injury by striking bystanders or could become an obstacle to other drivers, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash. Correction: Dealers will install reinforcement wedges to the roof edge spoiler.

Certain vehicles do not comply with the requirements of CMVSS 120. The tire pressure label, located on the driver's side B-pillar, does not indicate the vehicle GVWR and GAWR or the recommended wheel rim size. The tire size, rim size and inflation pressure information was also not given on the compliance certification label. However, the combination of the tire information label and the certification label adjacent to each other on the driver side B-pillar provides the GAWR, GVWR, tire size and inflation pressure information. Correction: Since this does not pose any safety risk, no corrective action is required.
