NEW FOR 2014:
- Six-speed manual discontinued for Comfortline.
- Wheel locks discontinued.
- Cold Weather Package for Trendline replaced by Convenience Package.
For 2014 Volkswagen’s compact crossover carries over with no major changes.
As before, the Tiguan is solely offered with the powerful and fuel-efficient turbocharged 2.0L I4 with 200 hp and a choice of six-speed manual or automatic in front-wheel drive. If you opt for all-wheel drive, the automatic is mandatory. Based on the compact Golf chassis, the five-passenger four-door Tiguan is one of the better driving models in its class. Its body feels solid, its steering is direct, and it features a typically Germanic interior that’s classy and well made, with second-row seating that slides for more legroom if needed.
The Tiguan is offered in Trendline, Comfortline, and Highline trims.
