For 2011, the Volkswagen Jetta is completely redesigned, with new body and interior, new engines, and a new platform that, unlike in past years, it does not share with the Golf. The Jetta is available only as a sedan; a wagon variant is available in the Golf line-up.
The Jetta comes with a choice of three engines: a 2.0-litre four-cylinder, 2.5-litre five-cylinder, and a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel (TDI). The gasoline engines use a five-speed manual transmission or optional six-speed automatic. The TDI uses a six-speed manual or optional six-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) automatic. The 2.0-litre comes in Trendline, Trendline+ and Comfortline trim. The 2.5-litre comes in Comfortline, Sportline and Highline trim, while the TDI comes in?Comfortline and Highline trim.
Features on the 2.0-litre Trendline include 15-inch steel wheels, manual mirrors, variable intermittent wipers, power locks, vanity mirrors, CD/MP3 stereo with four speakers, auxiliary input, six-way manually-adjustable cloth seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, tilt and telescopic steering column, and auto up/down windows.
The 2.0 Trendline+ adds air conditioning and keyless entry.
The 2.0 Comfortline adds 15-inch alloy wheels, heated power mirrors with integrated turn signals, heated washer nozzles, anti-theft alarm, front centre armrest with storage compartment, cruise control, dual rear cupholders, cloth door trim, floor mats, illuminated vanity mirrors, six speakers, heated seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat with centre pass-through and locking glovebox.
Features on the 2.5-litre and TDI Comfortline models include 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, variable intermittent wipers, heated washer nozzles, anti-theft alarm, front centre armrest with storage compartment, cruise control, dual rear cupholders, floor mats, keyless entry, illuminated vanity mirrors, CD/MP3 stereo with six speakers, auxiliary input, six-way manually-adjustable heated cloth seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat with centre pass-through, tilt and telescopic steering column, locking glovebox, and auto up/down windows.
The TDI Comfortline also includes front fog lights and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The 2.5-litre Sportline adds 17-inch alloy wheels, eight-way manually-adjustable ?leatherette? seats, fog lights, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power sunroof and sport suspension.
The Highline uses 16-inch alloy wheels on the 2.5-litre and 17-inch alloy wheels on the TDI. Other additional features include multifunction trip computer, pushbutton start, Sirius satellite radio, iPod interface, multifunction steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, and matte chrome interior trim.
