NEW FOR 2011: - Air conditioning standard on base 4x2 models - Automatic transmission available on four-cylinder 4x4 model For 2011, the Toyota Tacoma broadens its list of features. Air conditioning is now standard on the base 4x2 model, while the four-cylinder 4x4, which previously came only with a five-speed manual transmission, can now be optioned to a four-speed automatic. The Tacoma is available in several configurations. A 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine is available in the Access Cab in two- or four-wheel drive, with a five-speed manual or optional four-speed automatic transmission. A 4.0-litre V6 is available in the Access Cab in 4x4 configuration, with six-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic. It is also the only engine available in the Double Cab, in 4x4 only, where it comes with the six-speed manual or five-speed automatic. The Access Cab features small, rear-hinged back doors that can only be operated when the front doors are open; the Double Cab uses four independently-opening doors. The Access Cab uses a six-foot box; the Double Cab comes with a five-foot or six-foot box. All of them are double-walled and made of composite material, and include a removable tailgate and tie-downs. Features on the four-cylinder Access Cab 4x2 include 15-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, fabric reclining front bucket seats, rear jump seats with fold-up seat cushions, power windows with driver’s side auto-down, power locks, passenger vanity mirror, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, carpet, floor mats, digital clock, front centre console box, front and rear cupholders, map lamps, active front head restraints, front tow hook, tire pressure monitoring system, rear step bumper, rear splash guards, manual mirrors, two-speed wipers, and LED taillamps. The Access Cab 4x4 models add 16-inch steel wheels and air conditioning. The Double Cab 4x4 models add rear seat heat ducts, driver’s lumbar support, fold-down front passenger seat back, 60/40 split rear bench seat with fold-down seatback, and power mirrors. All models can be equipped with a Power Package that includes such features as cruise control, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, sliding rear window and keyless entry, while the V6 models can be optioned with TRD Off-Road, Sport, and Sport and Leather packages.
