For 2009, the Toyota Sienna minivan is unchanged, save for across the board price reductions, extra features on the base CE model, and a new Navigation Package that can be added to the Limited model.
All Sienna models use a 3.5-litre V6 engine with five-speed automatic transmission. In front-wheel drive configuration, trim choices are the CE in 7- or 8-passenger seating, the LE in 7- or 8-passenger, and the XLE Mobility 8-passenger. In all-wheel drive, choices are the CE, LE and Limited, all in 7-passenger seating.
Features on the CE models include 16-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input and wheel-mounted controls, fabric seats, second-row fold-and-tumble captain's seats, 60/40 split-folding third-row seat, power locks with keyless entry, dual vanity mirrors, conversation mirror, power windows, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, floor mats, cruise control, power flip-out rear quarter windows, rear privacy glass, roof rack, front and rear splash guards, variable intermittent wipers, wiper de-icer and rear washer/wiper. The 8-passenger model includes a second-row bench seat, while the CE AWD adds 17-inch alloy wheels.
The LE models add 16-inch alloy wheels, premium cloth seats, power driver's seat, Optitron electronic gauges, driver's side auto up/down window, metallic dash accents, front centre console box, overhead console box, dual power sliding doors, garage door opener, roof rails and fog lamps.
The XLE Mobility adds 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, premium six-CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input and wheel-mounted controls, heated front seats, leather upholstery, driver's side memory system, power passenger seat, auto-dimming rearview and driver's side mirror, wood and leather-wrapped steering wheel, power liftgate, rear parking assist, dynamic laser cruise control, 115-volt outlet, rear window sunshade, power-folding heated mirrors with integrated turn signals and puddle lamps, roof rails, power sunroof, and roof-mounted spoiler.
The Limited AWD is similarly-equipped to the XLE Mobility.
The last full-size minivan to offer all-wheel drive, the Sienna is powerful, well-equipped, nicely finished, and very smooth and quiet. The option of ordering a mobility vehicle through the factory should also appeal to buyers who require a van for special needs. Prices on all trim lines drop from the 2008 levels.
