The Corolla is now entering its 11th generation with all new sheetmetal, an upgraded interior, and a promise from Toyota to rid the model of beigeness.
Available in four trim levels - CE, LE CVT, S, and a new LE ECO CVT trim - the Corolla can be equipped with one of two 1.8L four-cylinder engines which are barely distinguishable from each other. On CE, LE, and S trim levels, Toyota carries over the 1.8L four-cylinder from the previous generation Corolla with 132 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque. ECO trimmed Corolla's get a new 1.8L four-cylinder with VALVEMATIC with 140 hp and 126 lb-ft of torque.
Transmissions are varied. CE models get a choice of either a six-speed manual or four-speed automatic, all LE CVT models feature Toyota's new CVT with intelligent shift, S models can be had with either a six-speed manual or CVTi-S transmission, and LE ECO CVT models only get the CVTi-S transmission.
In CE trim, features include 1.8L 132hp four-cylinder engine, six-speed manual transmission, 15-inch steel wheels, power heated mirrors, front disc/rear drum brakes with ABS, four-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio with USB and auxiliary input, tilt/telescopic steering wheel with audio controls, air filtration, power locks and windows with driver's auto down, outside temperature gauge, 60/40 split-fold rear seats, fabric seating, dual vanity mirrors, map lights, remote trunk release, floor mats, LED headlights, body-colour door handles, Bluetooth, eight airbags (front, front seat, side curtain, passenger seat cushion, driver knee), LATCH, and Star Safety System.
LE CVT trim adds CVTi-S transmission, 16-inch steel wheels, variable intermittent wipers, automatic headlights, heated front seats, premium seat fabric, fabric door trim, chrome inner door handles, air conditioning, six-speaker audio with 6.1-inch display and voice recognition, ECO indicator, cruise control, keyless entry with trunk release, and backup camera.
S trim replaces CVT transmission with six-speed manual and has CVTi-S with paddle shifters as an option; adds integrated mirror turn signals, sport front and rear fascias, rear lip spoiler, chrome exhaust tip, fog lights, sport fabric seats with leatherette trim, simulated leather door trim, piano black instrument panel trim accent, leather wrapped steering wheel, 3.5-inch TFT multi information display, and sport speedometer; removes ECO indicator.
LE ECO CVT trim adds (to LE CVT) VALVEMATIC 1.8L 140hp four-cylinder engine (ECO mode an option), 15-inch steel wheels, rear lip spoiler, and automatic air conditioning.
