The Avalon uses a 3.5-litre V6 engine, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. It comes in a single trim line, called the XLS; the only option available is a special pearl paint finish for an additional $220. Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, four-CD/MP3 stereo with JBL audio, auxiliary input and USB, XM satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, eight-way power heated leather seats, two-position driver’s side memory, reclining rear seats with pass-through, keyless entry, navigation system with backup camera, Optitron electronic gauges, auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass, illuminated vanity mirrors, auto up/down windows, cargo net, woodgrain and leather-wrapped tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio controls, floor mats, cruise control, garage door opener, driver’s side knee airbag, active front head restraints, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals and driver’s side auto-dimming, front and rear splash guards, power sunroof, variable intermittent wipers, automatic headlamps, and fog lamps.
