History/Overview
The Tesla Model 3 compact sedan arrived in Canada in 2018, and since then has become a big hit in the EV marketplace as Canada’s best-selling all-electric vehicle.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
Last year’s Standard Range Plus model is now called Rear-Wheel Drive and gets a new battery pack. Otherwise, changes are minor and include things like new rear seatbelt buckles and revised brake pads.
Available Trims
Tesla offers the Model 3 in Standard Range, Rear-Wheel Drive, Long Range, and Performance trim levels.
Standard Features
The Model 3 Standard Range comes with, among other items, Bluetooth, autopilot, a tinted glass roof, 18-inch wheels, auto-dimming/power-folding side mirrors, wireless phone charging, heated seats (front and rear), and a heated steering wheel.
Long Range and Performance trims add a 13-speaker stereo, and floor mats.
Key Options
An enhanced autopilot package adds automatic lane-change capability, automated parking, and a summon feature. You can also add full self-driving capability as a separate option.
Fuel Economy
Tesla’s energy consumption estimates start at 1.7/1.9 Le/100 km (city/highway) and 438 km of driving range in the newly christened Rear-Wheel Drive configuration, and Long Range is rated for 1.8/1.9 Le/100 km and 576 km. Standard Range (146 km) and Performance (507 km) ratings are 2.0/2.2 Le/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
