The Suzuki Aerio sedan moves into its final year for 2007. The Aerio fastback has been discontinued, replaced by the all-new SX4; the Aerio sedan is carried over from 2006, and will be replaced by an SX4 sedan in 2008. The sedan is unchanged from 2006, save for the addition of new Pearl White Metallic and Azure Grey Metallic exterior colours.
The Aerio sedan is available in a single trim line, powered by a 2.3-litre inline four-cylinder with five-speed manual transmission. An optional four-speed automatic transmission adds $1,200.
Features include 15-inch alloy wheels, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake distribution, air conditioning, power windows and locks with keyless entry, CD/MP3 stereo with six speakers and wheel-mounted controls, cruise control, tilt wheel, floor mats, height-adjustable driver’s seat, 60/40 folding rear seat, heated mirrors, variable intermittent wipers, and seat side airbags.
The Aerio sedan is roomy for its size, but its practicality was always overshadowed by the cargo-friendly Aerio fastback; still, many people prefer a trunk, and the Aerio offers good build quality, a zippy little engine and a blast-furnace of a heater. The Aerio will be replaced following this model year, so expect prices to be favourably flexible as dealers close out the last of their inventory.
