Subaru's slow-selling seven-passenger crossover moves into 2014 unchanged. Underneath styling that looks borrowed from a previous-generation Hyundai Santa Fe, you'll find a 3.6L six-cylinder boxer engine good for 256 hp and 247 lb-ft, mated to a five-speed automatic transmission.Completing the powertrain is Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel drive setup.
Trims include the base model, mid-range Limited and range-topping Premier package.
All Tribecas come with variable torque distribution, stability and traction control, four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock, electronic brake force distribution and brake assist, six airbags, active front head restraints, engine immobilizer and security system, 18-inch alloy wheels, sunroof, power-adjustable foldable heated mirrors with body-coloured housings and integrated LED turn signal repeaters, brake override system, fog lights, windshield wiper de-icer, rear spoiler, black roof rails, six-speaker, six-CD stereo with auxiliary input and satellite radio capability, backup camera, colour touchscreen, automatic dual-zone climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, garage door opener, power-adjustable heated front seats with lumbar, third-row seating with driver- and passenger-side access, rear-seat cooling unit with adjustable fan, 40/20/40 split folding, reclining and adjustable second-row seats, 50/50 split folding third row seating, and cloth upholstery.
The Limited package adds unique 18-inch wheels, body-colour rocker panels, wheel arches and lower bumpers, silver roof rails, Xenon headlights with manual levelling, 10-speaker stereo with subwoofer and 385-watt amplifier, voice-activated Bluetooth, satellite radio, two-position driver's seat memory, and leather upholstery.
Premier trim brings a DVD-based navigation system.
