NEW FOR 2015:
-Brabus trims discontinued
-New centre stack design for gas-powered models
-"Run-out" value package available for Pure trim
This is the last year for the second-generation Fortwo, with a redesigned model coming for 2016, so the lineup has been trimmed with the elimination of the Brabus coupe and cabrio. Remaining gas powered models get a new stereo and centre stack design, and the base Pure trim can be fitted with a "run-out" package that adds LED daytime running lights, panoramic roof, electric power steering, heated side mirrors, extra instrumentation, and unique wheels, plus the choice of any colours for the body panels and "tridion" frame.
Power sources remain a 1.0L, three-cylinder gasoline engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, or in the Electric Drive, an electric motor with a single-speed transmission. Base Pure trim comes as a coupe only, while Passion and Electric Drive trims can be had in coupe or convertible form.
The cabriolet features a soft top that peels back electrically at the touch of a button; the side rails can also be removed and stored in a special area inside the trunk for full open-air.
Features on the Pure coupe include 15-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, head and thorax side airbag, knee airbag, cloth seats with matching dashboard insert, door storage compartments, external temperature display, dash-mounted rev counter and clock pods, locking glove compartment, power windows, power locks with keyless entry, CD stereo, fold-down passenger seat, and two-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The Passion coupe adds 15-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, automatic temperature control, six-CD/MP3 stereo, panorama glass roof with sunscreen, three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with shift paddles, cargo cover, electric power steering, heated electric mirrors, and heated seats.
The Passion Cabriolet is equipped similarly to the coupe, but includes an automatic fabric roof with glass rear window and detachable roof bars.
