NEW FOR 2010:

- BRABUS adds standard folding armrest, leather optic dashboard and fog lamps; available silver metallic body panels, anti-theft alarm system and tire pressure monitoring system

For 2010, the Smart Fortwo adds to its list of available features, and realigns its trim packages. Tire pressure monitoring is no longer standard, and added to the BRABUS as an option. The Pure trim line adds stand-alone options of heated seats and three body panel colours, while a Comfort Package adds air conditioning with automatic temperature control and folding armrest, and a Style Package adds fog lamps, cockpit clock and rev counter.

The Passion adds stand-alone options of heated seats, upgraded stereo, anti-theft alarm, Bluetooth, tire pressure monitoring system and silver, grey or blue metallic body panels, along with a Style Package of three-spoke sport steering wheel with shift paddles, 15-inch 12-spoke wheels and fog lamps. Once the Style Package is added, a further Leather Package of leather seats and dashboard can be added.

The BRABUS adds standard armrest, leather optic dashboard and fog lamps, and can be ordered with stand-alone options of silver metallic body panels, anti-theft alarm and tire pressure monitoring system.

Available in a coupe or cabriolet (convertible), the Smart uses a 1.0-litre three-cylinder gasoline engine, mated to an automated five-speed transmission that can be manually shifted or left in Drive.

The coupe comes in Pure, Passion or BRABUS trim, while the cabriolet comes in Passion or BRABUS. The cabriolet features a soft top that peels back electrically at the touch of a button; the side rails can also be removed and stored in a special area inside the trunk for full open-air. While not as easy as a conventional top, it only takes a couple of minutes to open completely and isn?t hard to do.

Features on the Pure coupe include 15-inch steel wheels, black body shell, head and thorax side airbag, cloth seats with matching dashboard insert, door storage compartments, external temperature display, locking glove compartment, power windows, power locks with keyless entry, CD stereo, fold-down passenger seat, and two-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel. Air conditioning can be added as an option.

The Passion coupe adds 15-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning with automatic temperature control, silver body shell, six-CD/MP3 stereo, panorama glass roof with sunscreen, three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with shift paddles, cargo cover, electric power steering, heated electric mirrors, and heated seats.

The Passion Cabriolet is equipped similarly to the coupe, but includes an automatic fabric roof with glass rear window and detachable roof bars.

The BRABUS adds 15-inch front and 17-inch rear double-spoke alloy wheels, sportier suspension, sport exhaust with chrome tailpipes, heated leather seats, sport steering wheel, matte brushed aluminum sport pedals, BRABUS velour floor mats, BRABUS fuel filler door, and body skirt package. It is available only in black or silver.
