For 2008, the Saab 9-5 receives upgrades to its list of standard and optional features.
The 9-5 is available as a sedan or SportCombi wagon, both powered by a 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The default transmission is a five-speed automatic, while a five-speed manual is optional.
Both models come in a single trim line and include 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated leather seats, fog lamps, headlamp washers, heated mirrors, keyless entry, power sunroof, variable intermittent rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, floor mats, garage door opener, cooled glove-box, auto-dimming rear-view mirror with compass, tilt and telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel, 60/40 split-folding rear seat with heated cushion, six-CD stereo with XM Satellite Radio, block heater, and OnStar.
The SportCombi adds black roof rails and rear wiper.
Available options include an Aero Package with sport chassis, a Visibility Package of Xenon headlamps, power-folding mirrors and parking assistance, DVD-based navigation system, and two-tone, ventilated or premium leather seats.
A viable alternative to many higher-priced sports sedans, the 9-5 offers supportive seats, supple ride, crisp steering and European panache. The SportCombi adds the functionality of a wagon while still retaining proportionately good looks. This is a comfortable, well-built and attractive vehicle line.
