NEW FOR 2012:
- New Panamera S Hybrid model
- New Panamera Turbo S model
- Standard heated seats and steering wheel
- Available lane change assist system (blind spot monitor), bi-xenon headlamps with Porsche Dynamic Light System, redesigned sports tailpipe, and wireless internet access system
For 2012, the Porsche Panamera adds a hybrid model that uses the same engine and electric motor combination found in the Cayenne Hybrid. The Turbo is also joined by a new Turbo S, which shares its engine but makes more power. On other models, changes are in trim, with all receiving standard heated seats and heated steering wheel, and new available options.
The four-door Panamera comes as the Panamera and Panamera 4, with 3.6-litre V6; the Panamera S and Panamera 4S, with 4.8-litre V8; and Panamera Turbo and Turbo S, with twin-turbocharged 4.8-litre V8. The Turbo makes 500 horsepower, while the Turbo S makes 550 horsepower, thanks to faster-responding turbochargers and unique engine management. The 4, 4S and Turbo are all-wheel drive. All use a seven-speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe) double-clutch transmission. An auto start-stop function shuts off the engine at idle for improved fuel economy.
The Panamera S Hybrid uses a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine with electric motor and can run on the gasoline engine, the battery, or a combination of both. It uses an eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission.
Features on the Panamera include 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, auto start-stop function, tire pressure monitoring system, electric parking brake, variable door stop, power-closing trunk, power sunroof, adaptive rear spoiler, water-repellent front windows, auto up/down windows, keyless entry, rain-sensing wipers, heated washer nozzles, heated power-folding mirrors, auto-dimming exterior and rearview mirrors, rear park assist, trip computer, cruise control, garage door opener, Bluetooth connectivity, universal audio interface, navigation system, CD/DVD stereo, automatic bi-xenon headlamps with washers, LED daytime running lights and brake lights, interior lighting package, trip computer, outside temperature display, front knee airbags, rear side airbags, eight-way power partial-leather heated seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, tilt and telescopic three-spoke multifunction heated leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, cargo cover, and alarm system.
