History/Overview
Porsche introduced the Macan in 2015 as its then-new compact luxury crossover SUV model. Since then, the segment has grown significantly, to which Porsche responded with a second-generation model in 2019. As was the case at its introduction, the Macan is one of the sportiest vehicles in its class.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
For 2022, the Macan gets a styling refresh that consists of new bumpers, and an updated interior. Last year’s Macan Turbo is gone, but Porsche has moved its powertrain into the GTS; meanwhile, the base and S models get more power.
Available Trims
Porsche offers the 2022 Macan in base, T, S, and GTS trim levels. The base model uses a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine, while S and GTS get a 2.9L turbo V6. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive are standard in all Macan trims.
Standard Features
The base Macan comes with 19-inch wheels, leatherette upholstery, heated/eight-way power seats, a power tailgate, rain-sensing wipers, auto on/off steerable LED headlights, front/rear park assist, lane departure warning, auto-dimming mirrors, passive keyless entry, three-zone A/C, a heated steering wheel, navigation, a 10-speaker stereo, a 10.9-inch touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay.
Macan T gets active suspension management, larger front brakes, 20-inch wheels, and a sport chrono package.
Macan S’s additions include upgraded brakes with six-piston calipers.
GTS models get air suspension with a lowered ride height, another brake upgrade with larger rotors, a sport exhaust, an upgraded rear spoiler, 21-inch wheels, and GTS-style leather seating.
Key Options
You can option a Macan with 14- or 18-way power seats. A premium package brings a Bose stereo, lane change assist, and heated rear seats, and a premium plus pack adds a panoramic roof, and ventilated front seats. Other extras include surround-view cameras, self-steering park assist, lane keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.

Porsche’s fuel consumption estimates for the Macan are 12.4/9.3 L/100 km (city/highway) with the four-cylinder engine, 13.8/10.1 L/100 km in the Macan S, and 13.5/10.7 L/100 km for GTS models.

The Porsche Macan competes for luxury crossover buyers with the Audi Q5, BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, Acura RDX, Infiniti QX50, Cadillac XT5, Lincoln Corsair, Volvo XC60, and Lexus NX.
