For 2007, the Porsche 911 line-up expands from eight models to thirteen: new offerings are the Targa 4, Targa 4S, GT3, GT3 RS and Turbo. Carryover models receive a new tire pressure monitoring system, new optional wheels and new colours.
The 2007 911 line-up now consists of the Carrera Coupe, Carrera 4 Coupe, Carrera S Coupe, Carrera 4S Coupe, Carrera Cabriolet, Carrera 4 Cabriolet, Carrera S Cabriolet, Carrera 4S Cabriolet, Targa 4, Targa 4S, GT3, GT3 RS and Turbo.
The 911 range includes a 3.6-litre horizontally-opposed “boxer” engine in the Carrera and Targa models; a 3.8-litre boxer six in the Carrera S and Targa S models; a 3.6-litre six in the GT3 models; and a twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre in the Turbo.
The Carrera coupe uses a 3.6-litre six with six-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic transmission, and includes 18-inch alloy wheels, tire pressure monitoring system, power sunroof, side windows with water-repellent coating, automatically-extending rear spoiler, front and rear fog lamps, CD/MP3 stereo with nine speakers, power windows, rain-sensing wipers, heated washer nozzles, anti-theft system, garage door opener, cruise control, electric backrest adjustment, split folding rear seats, leather-wrapped three-spoke wheel, leather seats, Alcantara headliner and automatic climate control.
The Carrera S coupe uses the 3.8-litre six with six-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic transmission, and adds 19-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and self-levelling bi-Xenon headlamps with washers.
The all-wheel drive Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S have the same features as the Carrera and Carrera S, but the body is wider by 44 mm to accommodate the four-wheel system.
The drop-top Cabriolet models have similar features to the corresponding Carrera, S, 4 and 4S Coupe models, but add an electrically-operated soft top with heated rear glass window, wind deflector, and automatically-deployed rollover protection system.
Targa models are based on the Carrera 4 and 4S, but include a glass roof made from two large panels running from the windshield to the engine cover. The transparent glass absorbs almost all ultraviolet radiation and does not transmit heat into the vehicle; it can be covered with an integrated power shade, or the front portion of the glass can be electrically opened.
The GT3 uses a 3.6-litre six with six-speed manual transmission, and includes 19-inch alloy wheels, tire pressure monitoring system, anti-theft device, red brake calipers, power sunroof, front and rear fog lamps, side windows with water-repellent coating, CD player with four speakers, power windows, heated washer nozzles, cruise control, weight-reduced battery, electric backrest adjustment, Alcantara interior, three-spoke steering wheel and automatic climate control.
The GT3 RS is the let’s-go-racing version, with slightly longer wheelbase and wider track, flared rear fenders, split rear-suspension wishbones, single-mass flywheel and weight-reducing carbon fibre components, including the front lid and rear wing.
The 911 Turbo uses a twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre engine with six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, and includes 19-inch alloy wheels, tire pressure monitoring system, red brake calipers, power sunroof, self-levelling bi-Xenon headlamps with washers, LED turn signals, projector fog lamps, CD/MP3 stereo with 13 speakers, auto-dimming mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, heated washer nozzles, garage door opener, anti-theft system, fully electric seats, split folding rear seats, leather interior, and automatic climate control.
