For 2010, the Nissan Versa receives anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control as standard or available equipment. Other changes include new fascia, grille and wheel designs, an auxiliary input for the base stereo, and an iPod interface for the upper-level stereo.
The Versa is available as a four-door sedan or four-door hatchback. The sedan uses a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, with five-speed manual transmission or optional four-speed automatic. The hatchback uses a 1.8-litre four-cylinder with six-speed manual transmission. The S trim line can be optioned to a four-speed automatic, while the SL can be optioned to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Features on the 1.6 sedan include 14-inch steel wheels, tilt steering column, variable intermittent wipers, cloth seats, four-way manual driver’s seat, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, audio system pre-wiring, front seat active head restraints, and side and curtain airbags.
An $1,800 Value Option Package adds air conditioning, CD stereo with auxiliary input, power locks with keyless entry, power windows with driver’s auto up/down, power heated mirrors, silver interior trim accents, front and rear door pockets, and front door bottle holders. When the Value Option Package is added, the sedan can be further optioned with a package of anti-lock brakes and electronic brake force distribution for an additional $500.
Features on the S hatchback include 15-inch steel wheels, heated mirrors, tilt steering column, variable intermittent wipers, intermittent rear wiper, front door pockets and bottle holders, cargo cover, passenger vanity mirror, double-foam cloth seats, four-way manual driver’s seat, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, silver interior trim accents, CD stereo with auxiliary input, side and curtain airbags, and front seat active head restraints.
The SL hatchback adds 15-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, power locks with keyless entry, power windows with driver’s auto up/down, cruise control, overhead sunglass storage, map lights, rear door pockets, driver vanity mirror, six-way manual driver’s seat, woven cloth upholstery, front centre armrest with storage, rear centre armrest, premium CD/MP3 stereo with iPod interface, and vehicle security system.
The S hatchback can be ordered with a Value Option Package for $1,600, which adds air conditioning, power locks with keyless remote, power windows with driver’s auto up/down, and rear door pockets; when that package is ordered, the vehicle can be further optioned with a package of anti-lock brakes, electronic brake force distribution, stability control and traction control for $800.
The SL hatchback can be optioned with a $1,900 Sport Package, which adds unique front and rear fascias, lower body side sill extensions, rear roof spoiler, power sunroof, dual illuminated vanity mirrors, fog lights, sport cloth seat trim, Bluetooth connectivity, and leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls.
