NEW FOR 2014:
- All-new model.
Following a short hiatus, the hatchback version of the Versa returns to Nissan’s Canadian lineup sporting a new look and a new name. The Versa Note is based on the same platform as the Versa Sedan and features the same powerplant, but has a unique look to its exterior.
The outgoing Versa Hatchback was a spacious and practical car – the new Versa Note builds on these attributes. The cabin has been optimized for interior and cargo space; it offers up class-leading front-seat headroom and rear-seat legroom, plus an additional 28 L of cargo capacity. A lower liftover height makes it easier to load and unload heavy objects, while the available Divide-n-Hide adjustable floor allows for improved organization of the trunk. As before, the rear seats do not fold completely flat.
All Versa Notes are powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder motor that develops 109 hp and 107 lb-ft of torque, and can be paired to either a five-speed manual or a CVT transmission. That’s a step back from the Versa Hatchback in engine size and output, but overall weight is down so performance and fuel economy are improved.
The Versa Note is available in three trim lines: S, SV, and SL.
The Versa Note S comes equipped with 15-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, four-way manually adjustable front seats, 60/40 split folding rear seat, four-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo system with aux-in jack, extending sun visors, four cupholders, door-mounted bottle holders, 12-volt power outlet, driver footrest, front door pockets, cargo area light, and front seat map pockets.
The SV adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, air conditioning, cruise control, Bluetooth, six-way manual driver’s seat, driver’s arm rest, power windows with one-touch driver’s side, power door locks, keyless entry, illuminated entry, and front map lights.
The SV Convenience Package adds a 4.3-inch colour display with MP3/WMA CD playback capability, USB audio port, satellite radio, reverse camera, rear-seat arm rest, Divide-N-Hide adjustable floor and a rear cargo cover.
The SL builds on the SV with 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, upgraded cloth upholstery, heated front seats, rear centre arm rest with cupholders, a 4.3-inch colour display with MP3/WMA CD playback capability, USB audio port, satellite radio, reverse camera, proximity key with pushbutton start, vanity mirrors, and the Divide-N-Hide adjustable floor.
The SL Tech Package adds a 5.8-inch colour touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Bluetooth streaming audio, hands-free text message assistant and around-view monitor. The SL Tech Package requires the CVT transmission.
