NEW FOR 2008:
- All-new model
An all-new model, the Nissan Rogue is the company's new compact SUV, taking the spot previously claimed by the X-Trail.
The Rogue uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with continuously variable transmission (CVT) and is available in S or SL trim; both come in either front- or all-wheel drive.
Features on the S models include 16-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, tire pressure monitoring system, heated mirrors, variable intermittent wipers, intermittent rear wiper, four-way manually adjustable driver's seat, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, CD stereo, under-floor cargo tray, power windows, power locks with keyless entry, cruise control, and vehicle security system.
The SL models add 17-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, roof rails, six-way manually adjustable driver's seat, and front centre console.
Depending on the model, available options include a power sunroof, leather seats, six-CD stereo, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, Bluetooth hands-free telephone system and drive computer.
Better than the X-Trail that it replaces, the Rogue is well-balanced, comfortable and fun to drive, especially with the SL's wheel-mounted shifter paddles, which manually "shift" the CVT and give it a nimble, sporty feel. The interior is handsome, controls are simple, and with the optional fold-flat passenger seat it can be almost as useful as a small pickup truck.
