The Nissan Maxima is the brand’s top car model, a mid-size sedan that competes in a niche segment between mainstream and luxury models. The current generation Maxima was introduced in 2016 and received an update in 2019.

Available Trims
Nissan offers the Maxima in SL, SR, and Platinum trim levels. All use a 3.5L V6 engine, a continuously variable automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive.
Standard Features
Maxima SL comes wearing 18-inch wheels, auto on/off LED headlights and fog lights, rear LED signature lighting, heated/power-adjustable side mirrors, a panoramic sunroof, passive keyless entry, and remote engine start.
Inside, you get dual-zone automatic A/C, an integrated garage door remote and auto-dimming rearview mirror, ambient cabin lighting, heated/power-adjustable front seats, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, and satin chrome interior trim.
High-tech features include an 8.0-inch touchscreen, a 7.0-inch driver info display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, an 11-speaker stereo, active noise cancellation, and navigation.
Every Maxima comes fitted with forward collision warning with auto emergency braking, intelligent cruise control, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, rear auto emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, automatic high beams, and a driver awareness monitor.
SR trim adds 19-inch wheels, an auto-dimming driver’s side mirror, driver’s seat thigh extension, ventilated front seats, leather seats with quilted Alcantara inserts, dark chrome interior trim, lane departure prevention, and 360-degree camera views.
Platinum trim brings a power-adjustable steering column, rain-sensing wipers, a rear-window power sunshade, and maple wood interior trim.

Nissan’s fuel consumption estimates for the Maxima are 11.6/7.9 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
With the Maxima, Nissan competes with the Toyota Avalon, and the Volkswagen Arteon.
