NEW FOR 2014:
- Standard reverse camera, 7.0-inch display audio system, and HID headlights
- Sport and Premium packages now include navigation
- New colours: Gun Metallic, Midnight Garnet
Nissan’s flagship sedan enters its final model year of the current bodystyle with only a handful of changes. The so-called four-door sports car (4DSC) receives more standard equipment in the form of a standard display audio system, HID headlamps, and a reverse camera, plus two new exterior colours.
Unlike its rivals from Chevrolet, Dodge, Toyota, and Kia, Nissan’s approach for the full-size Maxima has been to deliver drivers a driver-oriented configuration with aggressive styling, a sporty setup for ride and handling, and available rear bucket seats.
The Maxima is offered in a single trim (SV), with two key options packages. All use a 3.5-litre V6 engine good for 290 hp that's paired to a CVT which drives the front wheels; the Sport and Premium option packages add paddles for manual shifting.
Standard features include 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, automatic HID headlamps, fog lights, LED tail lamps, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, power sunroof, trip computer, Bluetooth, garage door opener, auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass, proximity key with push-button start, auto up/down front windows, tilt and telescoping steering column, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, speed-sensitive variable intermittent wipers, eight-way driver and four-way passenger power-adjustable seats, leather upholstery, heated front seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, cargo net, 7.0-inch display audio system, reverse camera, AM/FM/MP3/CD Player, USB and aux-in ports, alarm, and tire pressure monitoring system.
The Sport and Navigation Package adds 19-inch alloy wheels, dark-finish sport grille and headlights, sport-tuned suspension, auto-dimming driver’s exterior mirror, auto-tip-in-reverse mirrors, driver’s side memory, metallic interior trim accents, power tilt and telescopic steering wheel with paddle shifters, premium leather upholstery with unique stitching, heated and ventilated front seats, navigation, satellite radio, and rear spoiler. The rear bench seat is replaced with rear bucket seats, and the split-folding rear seat is replaced by a fixed seatback with cargo pass-through.
The Premium and Navigation Package builds on Sport and Navigation Package with dual-panel moonroof with power sunshades, power rear sunblind, premium ambient lighting, and Cherry wood trim. 18-inch alloy wheels replace the Sport’s 19-inch units. Sport suspension, rear spoiler, and dark-finish Sport grille and headlights are deleted.
