NEW FOR 2015:
- Suspension tweaks
- New full-LED headlamps
- Optional Premium Interior Package gains new colour now available in Ivory
- New colour: Regal Red
For model year 2015, Nissan has given its GT-R a handful of minor suspension tweaks to improve its ride and high-speed handling. New suspension bushings – which appear to be changed with each passing year – have been fitted, while the spring rates have been fettled with once again. New valves for the shock absorbers have also been fitted to reduce vibration and road noise, too. Lastly, the GT-R team has selected new Dunlop tires which were developed specifically for the car’s suspension.
2015 also brings three other changes. Full LED headlights now replace the former xenon beams. Regal Red paint joins the options list, and it flies in the face of trendy matte finish paints with gold-coated glass flakes for a deep sparkle finish. As with the four-stage Super Silver Metallic paint, it sells for $3,000. Inside, Ivory joins the existing Red Amber semi-aniline leather upholstery for the Premium Interior Package. Adding it will fatten the bottom line by $4,000.
The GT-R is sheer awesomeness on wheels. Described by magazines as the supercar for the Playstation generation, it leverages science, technology, and good 'ol physics to deliver eyeball-flattening performance. Its mid-sized body and welterweight status dwarf the likes of the Jag F-Type, Porsche 911, and Benz AMG-GT, but its 545-hp twin-turbo V6 and superglue grip allow it to rocket to 100 km/h in a hair over three seconds and lap the Nurburgring at a record-setting pace. Incredibly, it sells for just a bit over $100,000.
The GT-R is offered in two trims, Premium and Black Edition.
Features on the Premium include 20-inch 10-spoke forged aluminum wheels, adaptive dampers, rear spoiler, fender vents, automatic LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED brake lights, dual power folding heated exterior mirrors, UV tinted glass, proximity key with push-button start, Bluetooth, garage door opener, dual-zone climate control, cabin filter, power windows with one-touch driver’s side auto up/down, power door locks, cruise control, tilt and telescoping steering column with integrated gauges, speed-sensitive wipers, sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, dual 12-volt power outlets, leather and suede cloth upholstery, eight-way power driver’s seat, four way power passenger’s seat, heated front seats, leather-wrapped magnesium paddles for manual shifting, leather-wrapped steering wheel, gearshift, and parking brake, aluminum pedals, carbon fibre and aluminum interior trim, 7.0-inch navigation screen, reverse camera, Multi-Function display for vehicle information and performance, 11-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 Bose sound system, USB port, aux-in jack, satellite radio, tire-pressure monitor, anti-theft system.
The Premium Interior Package adds Red Amber or Ivory hand-stitched semi-aniline leather front seat and interior treatment.
The Black Edition adds black-painted six-spoke 20-inch forged alloy wheels, red and black Recaro leather-appointed seats, red and black interior trim, dark headliner, and carbon fibre rear spoiler.
