In 2009, Nissan brought its storied GT-R sports car to North America for the first time. Exotic and extroverted styling is backed up by adrenaline-fueled performance. This car's acceleration is frightening in its ferocity, aided by AWD traction. Through its production run, the GT-R's power increased along with its refinement, making this car better both for the track and the daily grind.
You will get anywhere in no time at all! A thing you need to know is that you will for sure get people taking pictures of your sweet ride! The trunk may look small but is quite big in actuality.
Issue:
On certain vehicles, the front steering knuckles may not have been properly heat-treated. As a result, a strong impact (such as hitting a curb) could cause a steering knuckle to bend or break. If this happens, the steering wheel may become off-center or there could be a loss of steering control and a wheel could separate.
Safety Risk:
A loss of steering control and/or a wheel separation could increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle.
Corrective Actions:
Nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the production date on the casting stamp of the front steering knuckles. Parts that are affected by this problem will be replaced.
Issue:
On certain vehicles, the rear view camera system does not return to the default setting when the transmission is shifted to reverse. This could cause a reduction in rear visibility if a driver had previously adjusted the camera display. Canadian regulations require that the rear view image returns to its original setting each time the camera is turned on.
Safety Risk:
Reduced rear visibility could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the software for the rear view camera.
On certain vehicles, the steering column upper bearing retainer may fail due to a manufacturing defect. if this occurs, the upper bearing may experience additional stress causing excessive play in the steering wheel. This could result in vehicle instability and increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace steering shaft on EX35/FX35/45 and replace steering column assembly on GT-R.
