For 2012, the Nissan Frontier compact pickup truck receives stability and traction control to its four-cylinder model, with the systems now standard on all models. A new Sport Appearance Package available on King and Crew SV models adds 18-inch alloy wheels in dark hyper-silver finish, dark grille treatment, body-colour front and rear bumpers, PRO-4X-style seats with grey seat bolsters and stitching, fog lights, body side sport graphic, white-faced gauges and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Frontier is available in King Cab or Crew Cab configuration. The entry-level King Cab S, which comes in 4x2 only, uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, with five-speed manual transmission or optional five-speed automatic. All other trucks use a 4.0-litre V6. The King Cab SV 4x2 uses a five-speed automatic transmission; the King Cab SV 4x4 and PRO-4X use a six-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic. The Crew Cab SV 4x2 uses a five-speed automatic transmission; the Crew Cab SV 4x4 uses a six-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic; and the Crew Cab PRO-4X and SL use a five-speed automatic.
Features on the King S include 15-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, splash guards, heated mirrors, rear privacy glass, locking tailgate, tire pressure monitoring system, cargo bed light, sliding rear window, power windows, power locks with keyless entry, cruise control, variable intermittent wipers, tilt steering column, fold-flat front passenger seat, forward-facing rear flip-up seats, second-row under-seat storage, and CD stereo.
The King SV adds 16-inch alloy wheels, front tow hook, chrome bumpers, and front map lights.
The King PRO-4X adds electronic locking rear differential, Bilstein performance shock absorbers, skid plates, fog lights, spray-on bedliner and rail caps, cargo channel system with tie-down cleats, Bluetooth connectivity, trip computer, auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass and outside temperature gauge, first-aid kit, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, and six-CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input and XM satellite radio.

The Crew SL adds 18-inch alloy wheels, hill descent control, hill start assist, automatic headlamps, fog lights, roof rack with crossbars, step rails, chrome mirrors and door handles, power sunroof, Bluetooth connectivity, garage door opener, auto-dimming rearview mirror, compass, outside temperature display, trip computer, first-aid kit, eight-way driver and four-way passenger power-adjustable heated leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and six-CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, wheel-mounted audio controls and XM satellite radio.
The Crew PRO-4X builds on the SE and adds electronic rear locking differential, hill descent control, hill start assist, Bilstein performance off-road shock absorbers, skid plates, body-colour bumpers, power sunroof, Bluetooth connectivity, auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass and outside temperature gauge, trip computer, first-aid kit, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, white-face gauges, and six-CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input and XM satellite radio.
