Topping the Nissan lineup is the Armada, a full-size SUV that verges on luxury status in terms of appearance and content and is closely related to the even posher Infiniti QX80.
Though it doesn’t offer a lot more passenger space than Nissan’s mid-size Pathfinder, the Armada offers a higher towing capacity.

There are no changes to the Armada for 2022, following last year’s mid-cycle stylish refresh.
Available Trims
Nissan offers the Armada in SL and Platinum trim levels. Both are powered by a 5.6L V8 engine, a seven-speed automatic transmission, and 4WD.
Standard Features
SL comes with 20-inch wheels, auto on/off LED headlights, LED fog lights, heated/auto-dimming side mirrors, sunroof, power tailgate, tow hitch receiver with trailer wiring, and passive keyless entry.
Inside, there’s navigation, dual-zone A/C, a 7.0-inch digital gauge display, power steering wheel adjustments, auto-dimming rearview mirror, power-adjustable/heated front seats, leather upholstery, heated steering wheel, 13-speaker audio, and wireless phone charging.
Standard safety include front and rear parking sensors, surround-view cameras, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning/prevention, blind spot warning with lane change intervention, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, rear automatic braking, automatic high beams, and driver attention alert.
Platinum adds 22-inch wheels, power-folding side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, a front wiper de-icer, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, quilted leather seating, rear-seat entertainment, digital rearview mirror, traffic sign recognition, and intelligent backup intervention.
Key Options
An SL Midnight Edition package brings black exterior trim, a black headliner, second-row captains’ chairs, and a padded second-row centre console.
You can also option the Platinum model with second-row captains’ chairs.

Nissan’s fuel consumption estimates for the Armada are 17.5/12.9 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
The Nissan Armada’s main competitors are the Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban, GMC Yukon, and Ford Expedition. Also worth considering is the Toyota Sequoia.
