NEW FOR 2009:
- New steel spare wheel and power locks with auto-locking feature; passenger-side auto-dimming exterior mirror deleted; front passenger seat is now four-way power instead of six-way and no longer fold-flat
- Chrome-clad wheels added to Technology Package
For 2009, changes to the Nissan Armada are minor, with additions and deletions to its list of features.
Based on the Nissan Titan pickup truck, the Armada also appears at Infiniti as the QX56. It uses the Titan's 5.6-litre V8 with a five-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive with two-speed electronic transfer case. It comes in a single trim line.
Standard features include 20-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, tire pressure monitoring system, automatic headlamps, fog lamps, heated eight-way driver and four-way passenger leather seats, driver's side memory, second-row flat-folding captain's chairs, power-folding 60/40 split third-row bench seat, six-CD/MP3 Bose stereo with XM satellite radio, rear-seat DVD entertainment system, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity, cruise control, power-folding heated mirrors with driver's side auto-dimming and integrated turn signals, auto up/down front windows, power sunroof, power liftgate, Intelligent Key with twist start, auto-dimming rearview mirror, power-adjustable pedals, illuminated vanity mirrors, and vehicle security system.
The sole option package is the Technology Package, which adds a hard disc drive navigation system, lane guidance, touch-screen controls, voice recognition for navigation, audio and climate controls, single-disc CD player, 9.3 GB Music Box, compact flash slot, and chrome-clad wheels.
One of Nissan's most luxurious vehicles, it's also the largest; its steering and handling make it easier to drive than its size would appear, but you'll really notice it when you're trying to put it into a urban parking spot. The price drops by $10,000 from its 2008 MSRP.
