History/Overview
As a small automaker by North American standards, Mitsubishi rarely sets trends for the rest of the industry to follow. However, when it introduced the RVR way back in 2011, Mitsu was one of the brands that helped establish the subcompact crossover segment that has taken the marketplace by storm. Despite having been around for well over a decade, the RVR remains in its first generation, though it has been refreshed and updated periodically.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
There are no notable changes to the RVR for 2023.
Available Trims
The RVR range begins with an ES trim level, which you can upgrade to SE, SEL, LE, and GT. ES and SE start with a 2.0L engine, front-wheel drive, and a continuously variable automatic transmission; both ES and SE can be optioned with AWD, but doing so in SE also gets you a 2.4L engine. SEL, LE, and GT all come standard with the 2.4L engine and AWD.
Standard Features
ES trim starts with heated side mirrors, auto on/off LED headlights/taillights, rain-sensing wipers, and 16-inch steel wheels with covers. Inside, ES includes heated front seats, an 8.0-inch touchscreen, automatic A/C, keyless entry, power windows, cruise control, and four-speaker audio.
SE trim adds alloy wheels, six-speaker audio, LED fog lights, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and leather steering wheel/shifter trim. SE models with AWD also get premium cloth seat upholstery.
SEL gains passive keyless entry, 18-inch wheels, faux suede upholstery, and a heated steering wheel.
LE models bring black exterior accents, red interior stitching on the steering wheel/shift lever, paddle shifters, and remote engine start.
Finally, GT models add a panoramic roof, a nine-speaker stereo with subwoofer, power-folding side mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery, and a power driver’s seat. GT trim also gets Mitsu’s full suite of driver safety assists: automatic high beams, forward collision mitigation, and lane departure warning.
Fuel Economy
Mitsubishi’s fuel consumption estimates are 9.7/7.8 L/100 km (city/highway) for 2.0L/FWD models; 10.0/8.1 L/100 km for 2.0L/AWD versions; and 10.3/8.3 L/100 km in RVR models fitted with the 2.4L engine and AWD.
