Only two years after being released to the Canadian market, the Mitsubishi RVR undergoes a visual refresh for 2013. Front and rear fascias are redone, along with some other touches to the sport utility's interior and rear suspension.
The RVR, which is sold in the U.S. as the Outlander Sport, uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. In front-wheel drive, it comes with a five-speed manual transmission that can be optioned to a continuously variable transmission (CVT). In all-wheel drive, it uses the CVT exclusively.
Trim levels are the ES, in front-wheel drive; the SE, in front- or all-wheel drive; and the GT, in all-wheel drive only.
Features on the ES include 16-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, CD/MP3 stereo, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, keyless entry, power mirrors, multi-information display, heated cloth seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, illuminated glovebox, auto-off headlamps, driver’s knee airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, anti-theft alarm system, body-colour door handles, floor mats, cargo cover, and cruise control.
The SE models add 16-inch alloy wheels, reclining rear seats, rear privacy glass, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, Bluetooth connectivity with streaming audio and voice control, USB port, and fog lamps.
The GT adds 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control system, premium six-CD/MP3 Rockford Fosgate Punch sound system with subwoofer, Sirius satellite radio, panoramic sunroof, roof rails, colour multi-information display, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, proximity key with pushbutton start, automatic super-wide xenon headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, premium cloth seats, rear seat armrest, chrome grille surround, chrome exhaust tip, and hill start assist.
