-SE AWC Limited Edition model added
Mitsubishi's compact Lancer remains the same mechanically and cosmetically, but gains a new trim line, the third to use the brand's all-wheel drive (dubbed all-wheel control, or AWC) system.
Lancer's base engine is a 2.0L four-cylinder making 148 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque; it's used in all front-drive models. AWC models get a 2.4L motor good for 168 hp and 167 lb-ft. A five-speed manual transmission is standard on 2.0L FWD models, with the option of a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT); 2.4L AWC trims get the CVT as standard kit.
Trim levels include DE, SE, SE Limited Edition, SE AWC, SE AWC Limited Edition, GT and GT AWC.
Standard equipment includes a driver's knee airbag (for a total of six airbags), tire pressure monitoring, 16-inch steel wheels with covers, auto-off headlights, power side mirrors, four-speaker stereo, variable intermittent wipers, four-way manually-adjustable front seats, cloth upholstery, floor centre console box with cupholders, power door locks, power windows with auto up/down driver's glass, tilt steering, and multifunction trip computer.
SE trim adds a security system, 16-inch alloy wheels, Ralliart-style front bumper, front airdam, heated side mirrors with turn signal repeaters, heated front seats, six-way manual driver's seat, 60/40 split rear seat, upgraded cloth seat covering, front map lights, front centre armrest, rear centre armrest with cupholders, silver-accented steering wheel, dark silver painted instrument panel, floor mats, air conditioning, rear heater floor ducts, keyless entry, cruise control, and steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls.
SE AWC builds on the SE model and adds all-wheel drive, standard CVT with shift paddles, 2.4L engine, rear stabilizer bar, and hydraulic power steering (replacing the base electric system).
The SE Limited Edition adds fog lights, black front bumper centrepiece, sunroof, exhaust finisher, rear spoiler, and leather-trimmed steering wheel and shifter.
SE AWC Limited Edition brings all-wheel drive, standard CVT with shift paddles, 2.4L engine, rear stabilizer bar, and hydraulic power steering (replacing the base electric system).
The GT model builds on SE Limited Edition trim, and get unique alloy wheels, gloss black instrument panel, chrome climate control accents and interior door handles, automatic climate control, intelligent keyless entry, nine-speaker stereo, satellite radio, colour multifunction trip computer, and leather seats.
Finally, GT AWC trim combines the GT's trim bits with all-wheel drive, standard CVT with shift paddles, 2.4L engine, rear stabilizer bar, and hydraulic power steering (replacing the base electric system).
