NEW FOR 2013:
- No changes.
Just like other Lancer derivative models, the Lancer Evolution continues unchanged for 2013.
The top model in the Lancer line-up, but with specific suspension, the Evolution uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder intercooled and turbocharged engine, producing 291 horsepower and 300 lb.-ft. of torque. The GSR trim uses a five-speed manual transmission, while the MR comes exclusively with a six-speed twin-clutch Sportronic Shift transmission (TC-SST), an automated manual unit that can be shifted by console-mounted lever or steering wheel-mounted paddles, with manual or fully automatic modes. Both models use Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC), which includes active centre differential four-wheel drive, active yaw control rear differential, active stability control, and sport brakes with ABS. The system splits torque up to 50:50 between the front and rear wheels, using an electronically-controlled hydraulic multi-plate clutch.
Features on the GSR include 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, Brembo brakes, Ralliart-type spoiler, cloth Recaro front seats, colour-keyed door handles and mirrors, fog lamps, leather-wrapped tilt sport steering wheel, aluminum pedals, colour multi-information display, flat wiper blades, floor mats, tire pressure monitoring system, driver’s knee airbag, power windows, variable intermittent wipers, cruise control, keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity and CD/MP3 stereo.
The MR adds full leather seats, 710-watt DVD/CD Rockford Fosgate stereo, seven-inch touch-screen, navigation system, Sirius satellite radio, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, rain-sensing wipers, proximity key, extra sound insulation, automatic xenon headlamps, floor console box lid, wheel-mounted magnesium shift paddles, power sunroof, and insulated front windshield glass. It has no rear wing spoiler.
