NEW FOR 2012:
- John Cooper Works models add JCW Aerodynamic Kit
- New Wired Package replaces the Tech and Navigation Packages
For 2012, the Mini undergoes only minimal changes. The John Cooper Works models receive an aerodynamic kit, at no extra charge. A new Wired Package, at $1,850, adds navigation, Mini Connected, advanced Bluetooth connectivity, voice control, and music interface with connectivity for mobile devices.
The Mini is available as a coupe, in Cooper Classic, Cooper and Cooper S trim lines; as the Clubman, with three passenger doors and twin rear cargo doors, in Cooper and Cooper S trim lines; and as the convertible, in Cooper and Cooper S trim. All variants are also available as high-performance John Cooper Works (JCW) editions.
All use a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine that is naturally-aspirated in the Cooper models and turbocharged in the S and JCW models, with six-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic transmission.
Features on the Cooper Classic coupe include 15-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, heated mirrors, heated washer nozzles, hill assist, rear washer/wiper, tire pressure warning system, keyless entry, chrome grille, rear roof spoiler, illuminated and cooled glove box, eight-way manually-adjustable ?leatherette? seats, tilt and telescopic leather-wrapped multifunction sport steering wheel, cruise control, 50/50 split-folding rear seat, power windows, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, pre-wiring for Sirius satellite radio, and trip computer.
The Cooper coupe adds 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, front and rear fog lights, and on-board computer.
The Cooper S coupe adds larger brake discs, bi-xenon headlamps with washers, hood-mounted air inlet, black grille, chrome fuel filler door, twin exhaust tips, auto-dimming rearview mirror, sport seats, and stainless steel foot rest.
Features on the Cooper convertible include 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, heated mirrors, heated washer jets, hill assist, keyless entry, black soft top, front and rear fog lights, Always Open Timer, eight-way manually-adjustable ?leatherette? seats, illuminated and cooled glove box, cargo cover, multifunction tilt and telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, pre-wiring for Sirius satellite radio, trip computer, and on-board computer.
The Cooper S convertible adds 17-inch alloy wheels, larger brake discs, rear Park Distance Control, bi-xenon headlamps with washers, hood-mounted air inlet, black grille, chrome fuel filler door, twin exhaust tips, white turn signal lenses, auto-dimming rearview mirror, heated sport seats, and stainless steel foot rest.

An automatic transmission is not available.
