Model Overview
The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is the brand's poshest two-door model, a convertible with a folding hard roof. As a two-door flagship, the SL only nominally comes in a base model. Most of the engine options are V8s, including AMG versions with super-strong, hand-built motors. While the SL looks like a sports car, it's more like a grand tourer whose strength is smooth high-speed cruising while coddling occupants in a delightfully luxurious interior.

Overall Score
Silky smooth best describes the ride of these head turning sports cars. Comfortable, powerful and road hugging. With the roof up or down the cab is surprisingly quiet. The fit and finish is far superior to any North American vehicle. If you're looking for a classy yet sporty vehicle you need to try driving a Mercedes SL550 and it will win you over quickly.
