History/Overview
Mercedes-Benz vans is best known for the full-size Sprinter van, but it also offers a smaller version that offers buyers who like the Euro-style vans but want something a little smaller. It's offered in a passenger version, but it's also available as this, the cargo version of the Metris van.
What's New / Key Changes from Last Year
The Metris van sees few changes for 2021. The international version of the Metris saw new infotainment this year, but it's been delayed for Canada.
Available Trims
Just one trim level of Metris van is available, but it comes in 126-inch and 135-inch wheelbases. The latter offers more room for cargo. The only engine is a 208 hp four-cylinder and it offers a nine-speed automatic.
Standard Features
The cargo Metris comes with an extensive active safety suite including radar cruise control, digital camera mirror, and active brake assist. It also has crosswind assist to keep the van stable in the wind and a stability control program that compensates for the weight of cargo. For business use, a locking glove compartment and wide-opening rear doors help make it more secure and more useful.
Key Options
Available option packages include comfort seats, cold weather package, and a safety package that adds blind spot assist and a rain sensor.
Fuel economy
Both long and short-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are estimated to return 12.6 L/100 km city, 10.0 highway.
Competition
The Metris van competes with similar compact vans like the Ford Transit Connect, Ram ProMaster City, and Nissan NV200.
