History/Overview
The Mercedes-Benz GLC is the brand’s compact crossover SUV model. The GLC was new in 2016, when it replaced the GLK-Class, and was refreshed last year.

Available Trims
Mercedes-Benz offers the GLC in regular and coupe body styles, both of which can be had in GLC 300, AMG GLC 43 and AMG GLC 63 trims. The GLC 300 uses a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine. AMG GLC 43 models get a twin-turbo 3.0L V6, and the AMG GLC 63 uses a 4.0L turbo V8.
All three engines are standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive.
Standard Features
GLC 300 models come with 19-inch wheels, LED headlights/taillights/daytime running lights, rain-sensing wipers, heated/power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic A/C, heated/power-folding side mirrors, a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with touchpad controller and blind spot assist.
AMG GLC 43 trim adds performance brake and exhaust systems and sport-tuned transmission and AWD, 20-inch wheels, air suspension, Nappa leather-trimmed steering wheel, stitched dash and door trim, AMG body trim, panoramic sunroof, tire pressure monitoring, ambient cabin lighting, lighted door sills, artico/dinamica upholstery, AMG-trimmed gauges, and a race timer.
AMG GLC 63’s additions include further AWD, suspension and transmission performance enhancements, and satellite radio.
Key Options
A technology package adds upgraded LED headlights with automatic high beams, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. A GLC 300 sport package brings AMG-style body pieces.
The GLC’s premium package brings a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, passive keyless entry, power tailgate, smartphone integration with wireless charging, and traffic sign assist.
A premium plus pack gains a garage door opener, active parking assist, 360-degree camera views, and a hands-free tailgate.
The intelligent drive package adds Mercedes’ extensive suite of driver safety assists.
Fuel Economy
Mercedes-Benz’s fuel consumption estimates for the GLC 300 SUV are 11.3/8.5 L/100 km (city/highway), and the Coupe version is rated for 10.6/8.4 L/100 km.
AMG GLC 43 ratings start at 13.1/9.6 L/100 km for the SUV, and 13.5/9.6 for the coupe.
Finally, the AMG GLC 63’s estimates are 15.2/10.8 L/100 km for the coupe, and 15.7/10.9 L/100 km in SUV form.
Competition
The Mercedes-Benz GLC competes with the BMW X3 (and X4 in the case of the GLC Coupe), the Audi Q5, Volvo’s XC60, the Cadillac XT5, Lincoln Corsair, Porsche Macan, Acura RDX, Lexus NX, Infiniti QX50, and the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque.
