-Night Edition package added to G 500
-Special paint options for G 63 AMG
-Alcantara roofliner replaced with dinamica roofliner
This year brings a few small changes to the rough-and-ready G-Class, but for the most part, Benz's most rugged vehicle carries over from 2014.
It remains a two-model range that starts with the G 550, which uses a 5.5L V8 that makes 382 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque, and the step up is into the G 63 AMG, powered by a turbocharged version of the same motor making 536 hp and 560 lb-ft. Both are standard with Benz's 4MATIC all-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Standard kit in the G 550 includes 18-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, fog lights with cornering function, power-folding side mirrors, stainless steel running boards, ambient lighting, illuminated door sills, leather seats and dash, burl walnut trim, multicontour and climate comfort front seats, heated rear seats, wood/leather steering wheel, Comand online with MB apps, satellite radio, 14-speaker stereo, blind spot assist, front and rear park assist, backup camera, radar-based cruise control, heated front windshield, emergency calling, differential locks, tire pressure monitoring, and two-speed transfer case.
Moving up to G 63 AMG trim adds 20-inch wheels, AMG sports exhaust, red brake calipers, designo leather upholstery, dinamica roofliner, piano black lacquer trim, and an AMG performance steering wheel.
