For 2009, the Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class is in its final year in this generation, and will be completely redesigned for 2010. As a result, the 2009 CLK350 and CLK500 all come with a standard Premium Package and the 2008 model-year AMG body styling, wheels and badging. The CLK63 AMG is unchanged.
The CLK-Class is available in five models: as the CLK350, in coupe or cabriolet (convertible) with 3.5-litre V6; the CLK550, in coupe or cabriolet, with 5.5-litre V8; and as the CLK63 AMG, in cabriolet only, with 6.2-litre V8. All models use a seven-speed automatic transmission that's an AMG-specific Speedshift model in the CLK63.
Features on the CLK350 models include 17-inch AMG alloy wheels, Thermatic dual-zone automatic climate control, sport suspension, Harman/Kardon Logic7 Surround Sound system with six-CD/MP3 stereo and auxiliary input, Sirius satellite radio, AMG styling package of front apron, side skirts, trunk lid spoiler and rear apron, cross-drilled brake calipers, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, two-stage rain-sensing wipers, heated washers, active bi-Xenon headlamps with washers and cornering lights, ten-way power heated front seats, three-position memory, split-folding rear seats, trunk pass-through with ski bag, sport leather upholstery, leather-wrapped multifunction wheel with power tilt and telescopic adjustment, high-gloss Burl Walnut trim, rubber-studded aluminum pedals, power windows with one-touch up/down, auto-dimming rearview and driver's side mirrors, cruise control, garage door opener, SmartKey keyless entry, Parktronic parking assist, first aid kit, and tire pressure warning loss monitor. The coupe includes a power sunroof, while the cabriolet includes a windscreen.
The CLK550 models add 18-inch AMG alloy wheels, Thermotronic dual-zone automatic climate control, parameter steering, Keyless Go, and multi-contour driver's seat.
The CLK63 AMG adds COMAND APS with navigation, aluminum trim, AMG Nappa perforated leather upholstery with Nubuck inserts, and heated and ventilated front seats.
Based on the C-Class, the CLK-Class will be updated for 2010; the 2009 model offers beautiful styling and good performance, although interior room can be tight. The cabriolet models use a three-layer soft roof that cuts down on noise and weather, and opens and closes in 20 seconds, storing automatically out of sight under a body-colour tonneau; for 2009, it can now be opened or closed while the car is moving.
