2008 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class

NEW FOR 2008:

- New CL63 AMG and CL65 AMG models

Redesigned for 2007, the CL-Class is just as busy for 2008, adding two new AMG models, and adding more standard and optional features to the existing models.

The line-up consists of the CL550, with 5.5-litre V8 and seven-speed automatic; the CL600, with 5.5-litre twin-turbo V12 and five-speed automatic; the CL63 AMG, with 6.2-litre V8 and seven-speed AMG Speedshift automatic; and the CL65 AMG, with 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 and five-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission.

Features on the CL550 include 19-inch wheels, Thermotronic automatic climate control, parameter steering, active body control, COMAND APS with navigation system, six-CD Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 surround-sound system, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Bluetooth hands-free telephone system, active bi-Xenon headlamps with washers and cornering lights, electric parking brake, auto-dimming power-folding heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, rain-sensing wipers with heated washer system, 14-way heated seats with memory, high-gloss Burl Walnut trim, heated leather and Burl Walnut wheel, power sunroof, pneumatic rear head restraints, power rear sunshade, Parktronic parking system, garage door opener, cruise control, driver's side knee airbag, TeleAid emergency calling, tire pressure monitoring system and rearview camera.

The CL600 adds Drive Dynamic multi-contour heated and cooled front seats with massage function, Natural Poplar wood trim, and Keyless Go.

The CL63 AMG adds 20-inch AMG wheels, and adds Alcantara headliner and wheel-mounted shift paddles; like the CL550, it includes Burl Walnut interior trim and multi-contour front seats.

The CL65 AMG adds Drive Dynamic multi-contour heated and cooled front seats with massage function, Keyless Go and Night Vision Assist.

Temporarily discontinued for 2007, the CL-Class' AMG models return for 2008, offering the model's beautiful pillarless styling with power to spare. Engine enhancements and new standard features across the line-up increase the driving pleasure, along with numerous passive and active safety features, including Active Body Roll, which uses microcomputers and high-pressure hydraulics to counter body pitch, roll and squat, and virtually eliminate body movement during cornering.
