For 2010, the Mazda Tribute undergoes a few minor changes. The V6 engine now gets better fuel economy and can run on flexible ethanol fuel. All models receive automatic locking doors, speed-sensitive stereo volume control and exterior temperature gauge, while the GT receives a garage door opener, new vanity mirrors, and an auto-dimming mirror that displays a backup camera view when the vehicle is in reverse.
A sister vehicle to the Ford Escape, the Mazda Tribute comes with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder or 3.0-litre V6. The four-cylinder comes with a five-speed automatic or optional six-speed automatic, while the V6 uses the automatic exclusively.
Trim levels are the GX, GS and GT. The GX comes with the four-cylinder or V6, in front- or all-wheel drive. The GS and GT use the V6 exclusively; the GS comes in front- or all-wheel drive, the GT only with all-wheel. Adding the all-wheel drive to the GX or GS models adds $2,400 to the price and can only be ordered with an automatic transmission.
Features on the GX include 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, tire pressure monitoring system, fog lamps, heated mirrors, variable intermittent wipers, two-speed rear wiper, roof rails, tilt steering wheel, automatic door locks, auto-down driver's window, exterior temperature display, cloth seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, floor mats, and CD stereo with auxiliary input. The V6 model adds roof rack cross bars.
The GS adds trailer towing package with trailer sway control, roof rail cross bars, privacy glass, cruise control, cargo cover, overhead console with storage bins, seatback pockets, six-way power driver's seat, high gloss centre panel trim, and leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls.
The GT adds automatic headlamps, auto-dimming mirror with rearview camera display, illuminated vanity mirrors, garage door opener, power sunroof, heated leather seats, six-CD stereo, and Sirius satellite radio.
