The Mazda CX-9, the largest vehicle sold by the Japanese automaker in North America, enters 2013 with a refreshed exterior design to match other products within the Mazda portfolio and receives some tweaks to packaging and standard equipment.
All CX-7s, regardless of trim, have three-row seating and are powered by a 3.7-litre V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. The base model GS is available with front-wheel drive, while all other trims and options packages are available solely with all-wheel drive.
Features on the GS include front-wheel drive (all-wheel drive as an option), 18-inch alloy wheels, towing package, front and rear ventilated disc brakes with ABS, tire pressure monitoring system, automatic headlights, body-coloured heated power mirrors, rain-sensing front wipers, body-coloured door handles, privacy glass behind front row, body-coloured rear spoiler, exterior temperature gauge, three-zone climate control, rear A/C display, steering wheel mounted cruise and audio controls, tilt/telescopic steering, power locks, power windows with driver/front passenger auto-up/down, remote keyless entry, auto-dimming rear-view mirror with HomeLink, 8-way power driver seat, heated front seats, 60/40 folding 2nd row seats, 50/50 folding 3rd row seats, floor mats, trip computer, cloth upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, piano black interior trim, 6-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio with USB input and HD Radio, Bluetooth phone connectivity, 5-8-inch audio display touchscreen with rearview camera, dynamic stability control, traction control system, rollover stability control, anti-theft alarm system, engine immobilizer theft deterrent system, and airbags (front, front seat, side curtain).
A Luxury Package can be optioned with GS AWD models, which adds power moonroof, leather and suede trimmed upholstery, 4-way adjustable power front passenger seat, power driver lumbar support, and suede door trim.
GT trim adds 20-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlamps with manual levelling, fog lights, blind spot monitoring system, rear backup sensors, turn signal indicators on exterior door mirrors, exterior mirror reverse tilt, intelligent key system, 10-speaker Bose premium audio, center point surround sound system, AudioPilot noise compensation system, satellite radio, audio display screen, Bluetooth streaming audio, driver seat and mirror position memory, bordeaux satin interior finish, and armrest with storage box for 2nd row seating.
GT models can be optioned with a NAV Package, which adds navigation system and power tailgate, as well as a rear entertainment system package, which adds rear entertainment system, 5.1 channel audio with an additional speaker, 115V outlet, and removes the moonroof.
