For 2010, the Mazda B-Series pickup truck undergoes some major changes. The extended cab is gone, replaced with a new four-door Cab Plus model. Stability control, four-wheel disc brakes and seat side airbags are standard, as is a new Class III trailer hitch receiver. Trim levels are reduced from three to two with the discontinuation of the Dual Sport model; the B-Series is now available as the SX and SE. The V6 version is now available only in four-wheel drive.
A Mazda-trimmed version of the Ford Ranger, the B-Series comes in Regular Cab or Cab Plus configuration. A 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine comes in two-wheel drive, in SX trim, in Regular or Cab Plus configuration. A 4.0-litre V6 is four-wheel drive only, exclusively in SE trim in the Cab Plus. Both come with a five-speed manual or optional five-speed automatic transmission. The 2.3-litre is known as the B2300, the 4.0-litre as the B4000.
Features on the B2300 Regular Cab SX include 15-inch steel wheels, black bumpers and trim, front and rear splash guards, manual mirrors, privacy glass, sliding rear window, intermittent wipers, removable tailgate, Class III hitch receiver, 60/40 cloth split bench, carpeting, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, and tire pressure monitoring system.
The B2300 Cab Plus SX adds 15-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, fuel tank skid plate, body-colour door handles, chrome grille and bumpers, passenger vanity mirror, side-facing rear jump seats, door map pockets, and full-size spare tire.
The B4000 Cab Plus SE adds 16-inch alloy wheels, fuel tank and transfer case skid plates, two front tow hooks, fog lights, and heavy-duty shocks.
The SX Regular Cab can be optioned with air conditioning. The SX Cab Plus can be optioned with a Sport Package that adds power mirrors, tilt leather-wrapped steering wheel, sport bucket seats, cruise control, power windows and door locks, keyless entry, and Sirius satellite radio. The SE Cab Plus can be optioned with package of power mirrors, body-colour wheel flares, tilt leather-wrapped steering wheel, sport bucket seats, cruise control, power windows and locks, keyless entry, and six-CD changer with Sirius satellite radio.
