2008 Lincoln Navigator

For 2008, the Lincoln Navigator adds a second model: the extended-wheelbase version previously sold only in the U.S. market is now available in Canada. As with the Ford Expedition upon which it's based, the Navigator's seats remain where they are, but cargo space behind the third row is longer in the Navigator L.

The Lincoln Navigator and Navigator L use a 5.4-litre V8 engine with six-speed automatic transmission and are four-wheel drive. Both models come in a single trim line, the Ultimate.

Standard features include 20-inch chromed alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, eight-way heated and cooled leather seats, rear auto-levelling suspension, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, power running boards, trailer hitch receiver, roof rack, power sunroof, cruise control, power tilt steering wheel, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, power-adjustable pedals, garage door opener, floor mats, six-CD/MP3 stereo with SIRIUS Satellite Radio and wheel-mounted controls, automatic high-intensity headlamps, speed-sensitive variable intermittent wipers, rear wiper, privacy glass, and reverse sensing system with back-up camera.

Available options include a 40/20/40 second-row bench seat for eight-passenger seating, premium stereo and rear-seat DVD entertainment system.

The Navigator is a big truck and access to the third row of seats is very good, although they're a tight fit and more suited to children. Their fold-flat capability allows for good cargo space, and first- and second-row passengers enjoy plenty of room and luxury appointments. The new long-wheelbase model allows for even more hauling capability and should be able to get a full load of passengers and all their gear to their destination in style.
