History/Overview

The Lincoln Nautilus starts out as a Ford Edge dressed in fancier digs and with a raft of improvements to turn it into a luxury mid-size crossover. Before 2019, the Nautilus was known by the generic-sounding MKX moniker.

What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year

Changes for 2023 are minor, consisting of new wheels and a new optional package.

Available Trims

Lincoln sells the Nautilus in a Reserve trim level. Base power is from a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder engine that you can option to a 2.7L turbo V6. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed transmission are standard in all models.

Standard Features

Nautilus’s standard kit includes 18-inch alloy wheels, passive keyless entry with phone-as-a-key tech, LED headlights/taillights, power-folding side mirrors, and a panoramic roof.

Inside, there’s dual-zone A/C, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a heated steering wheel, 12.3-inch gauge cluster, power-adjustable steering wheel, and an integrated garage remote. You also get wireless phone charging, a 13.2-inch touchscreen with navigation, 13-speaker audio, leather upholstery on heated/ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats.

The basic safety kit (called Co-Pilot 1.0) comprises lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, and forward collision mitigation.

Key Options

A 201A package adds 20-inch wheels, and Co-Pilot 1.0 Plus (front/side/rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera views, adaptive cruise, lane centering/evasive steering assist, active park assist, and distance indication.

An ultimate package brings 21-inch wheels, adaptive headlights, LED headlights, and a 19-speaker stereo.

The 2.7L V6 is a stand-alone option.

Fuel Economy

Lincoln’s fuel consumption estimates are 11.6/9.4 L/100 km (city/highway) with the 2.0L engine, and 12.7/9.3 L/100 km in V6-powered models.

Issue: Under certain conditions, the rear shock absorbers could overextend and cause damage to the rear brake hoses. A damaged brake hose could leak and cause reduced braking. A shock absorber that overextends could also cause damage to the rear axle half shafts, wheel speed sensors, and/or stabilizer bar end links. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with continuous controlled damping (CCD) shock absorbers. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause an extended stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the rear shock absorbers. The dealer will replace the rear shock absorbers, rear brake hoses, rear wheel speed sensors, and rear half shafts, as necessary.

Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the upper tether anchorage for a child car seat may not be properly welded to the second-row left seat frame. As a result, the child seat tether strap could detach in a crash. Safety Risk: A child seat that is not properly secured could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the second-row left seatback frame.
