History/Overview
The Aviator is the brand’s largest crossover model, a three-row affair that slots in above the Nautilus and below the Navigator full-size SUV. It’s also one of two Lincoln plug-in hybrid offerings, along with the compact Corsair.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
Lincoln is expected to refresh the Aviator for the 2024 model year, so this year’s version is unchanged.
Available Trims
Lincoln offers the Aviator in Reserve and Grand Touring trim levels. Both are powered by a 3.0L turbocharged V6 engine, with Grand Touring adding an electric motor and plug-in charging for hybrid and electric driving.
Standard Features
Reserve trim comes with adaptive suspension, passive keyless entry, rain-sensing wipers with heated wiper blades, 20-inch wheels, LED headlights, a hands-free tailgate, and power-folding/auto-dimming side mirrors. Inside, there’s ambient lighting, an auto-dimming mirror, four-zone A/C, a heated steering wheel, a 10-inch touchscreen, power steering wheel adjustments, and an integrated garage remote. You also get a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, 110-volt power outlet, 14-speaker audio, leather upholstery, power-adjustable heated/ventilated front seats, and power-folding third-row seats.
Standard safety kit includes lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, front/rear parking sensors, cross-traffic alert with automatic braking, 360-degree cameras, and automatic high beams.
Grand Touring models add 21-inch wheels.
Key Options
A 201A package adds a luxury bundle (30-way massaging seats, rear door sunshades, 28-speaker audio), the Co-Pilot360 1.5 Plus advanced driver assist suite, phone-as-a-key tech, and a head-up display. An illumination package brings adaptive headlights, dynamic signature lighting, and LED fog lights.
Lincoln also offers air suspension as a standalone extra.
Fuel Economy
Lincoln’s fuel consumption estimates start at 13.7/9.7 L/100 km (city/highway) for Reserve trim, or 14.7/9.8 L/100 km with the auto stop/start function deactivated. Grand Touring’s energy consumption ratings are 10.9/9.6 L/100 km when running as a gas-electric hybrid, and 4.2 Le/100 km in electric mode.
Competition
The Aviator competes with some big names in the luxury SUV sphere, including the Audi Q7, BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Land Rover Range Rover, and Volvo XC90.
