History/Overview
The LX 570 is Lexus’s largest SUV, a full-size model that’s based on the Toyota Land Cruiser available in other markets, but not Canada.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
New for 2021 is a Black Line Sport Edition trim and appearance package. Otherwise, the LX is carried over with no fundamental changes.
Available Trims
Lexus offers the LX 570 in a single fully-loaded trim level. It’s powered by a 5.7L V8 engine matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.
Standard Features
On the outside, the Lexus LX 570 has LED lighting all around, a Class IV tow hitch receiver with 7-pin wiring, a sunroof, chrome door handles and trim, passive keyless entry, roof rails, an active sport differential, a transmission fluid cooler, 21-inch wheels, heated/power-adjustable side mirrors with memory, and rain-sensing wipers.
The LX 570’s cabin comes fitted with push-button engine start, three rows of seating, wireless smartphone charging, a 19-speaker sound system, rear-seat entertainment system, navigation, leather upholstery, leather-trimmed shifter, a heated/power-adjustable steering wheel with leather/wood trim, heated and ventilated front and middle-row seats, a 10-way power driver’s seat and 8-way power front passenger seat, power-folding third-row seats, head-up driver display, and four-zone automatic climate control.
Safety features include blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, a panoramic view monitor, wide-view front and passenger-side monitor, a multi-terrain view monitor, intuitive parking assist, and front and rear tow hooks.
The Black Line Sport Edition package adds special wheels; sport grille, side steps and bumpers; black roof rails; and black exterior trim.
Fuel Economy
Lexus’s fuel consumption estimates for the LX 570 are 19.2/14.3 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
With the LX, Lexus competes against just one other Japanese-built model, that being the Infiniti QX80. Its two notable domestic competitors are the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator. The Land Rover Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Audi Q7 and BMW X7 are the European SUVs that offer similar accommodations at a comparable price point.
