Introduced in 2012 as a sort of "Range Rover for the people," the Evoque (technically, Land Rover considers it part of the Range Rover family) is the least rough-and-tumble-looking model in the lineup. It was designed to give Land Rover a toehold in the compact luxury crossover segment, a vehicle category that's grown quickly in recent years and shows no signs of slowing down. Making Evoque unique in its class is a two-door (coupe) body style sold alongside a more traditional four-door model.
New for 2015 is an Autobiography special edition available in both body styles, but limited to just 25 exmaples for this model year. Among existing trims, Pure and Pure City models gain a fixed panoramic glass roof, and an available convenience package that now includes navigation and intelligent keyless entry.
Evoque continues to be powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine (240 hp/250 lb-ft of torque) coupled to a nine-speed automatic transmission and an AWD system that automatically engages the rear axle when extra traction is needed. Official fuel consumption figures are 11.3/7.9 L/100 km (city/highway).
There's a wide range of trims that includes Pure, Pure City, Pure Plus, Dynamic, Prestige, and Autobiography, with prices ranging from $47,695 to $65,695.
Some of the Evoque's standard and optional features include adaptive cruise control, park assist with perpendicular park and exit, surround-view camera system, magnetic ride control, auto high beams, adaptive xenon headlights, heated windshield, front seats and steering wheel, power tailgate.
